Crisostomo Ibarra - Now Streaming

15/08/2020

We're thrilled to share that Ballet Philippines' acclaimed production Crisóstomo Ibarra, choreographed by Paul Alexander Morales, is now streaming on the BP OnStream platform.

Digibox Audiovisual Productions Co. provided the video coverage during its original staging—helping preserve and now revive this timeless piece for online audiences.

Based on José Rizal's classic novel Noli Me Tángere, the ballet tells the story of an idealistic reformer returning to his homeland only to face the harsh realities of social injustice. Originally premiered in 2010, the production marked a creative milestone for Ballet Philippines, merging powerful storytelling with a distinctly modern Filipino ballet style.

We're glad to know that many of our past works with Ballet Philippines—including video documentations of several ballet performances—have been preserved on DVD and made available for public purchase. And now, ten years later, Crisóstomo Ibarra finds new life through online streaming, reaching audiences far beyond the theater.
