Projection Mapping for Gabriel Barredo’s Opera

16/02/2016

In February 2016, Ballet Philippines closed its 46th season with Opera—a groundbreaking dance production choreographed by French artist Redha, inspired by the acclaimed installation work of Filipino visual artist Gabriel Barredo.

This striking collaboration merged dance, art, and multimedia, featuring Ballet Philippines' finest dancers with the special participation of Carissa Adea. The libretto was written by Yvette Tan and Erwin Romulo, with an original score by Malek Lopez and video elements created by Pabrika. Former BP dancer Ronelson Yadao also served as dance master and associate choreographer.

Co-presented by the French Embassy, Opera was a sensory experience that brought Barredo's surreal, intricate art to life on stage through a fusion of movement, music, and visual design.
