BTS: Connecting Three Countries for a Feature Film Shoot

05/09/2025

Our team recently provided technical support for an international feature film production that required real-time coordination across Manila, UK, and the US. The film's Director, based in the United States, needed to monitor and communicate live with two simultaneous shooting locations — one in Manila and another in the United Kingdom. The scenes involved a couple having a Messenger call, with both actors performing in real time from different countries.

To make this possible, the production opted to use Zoom as the remote monitoring platform, since it's a tool that everyone — from the Director to the crew — is already familiar with, and it proved to be the most cost-effective solution for this type of setup.

We configured a Zoom conference system that allowed the Director, crew, and actors to see, hear, and communicate seamlessly throughout the shoot. Both sets were equipped with dedicated cameras and feeds, ensuring the Director had full visibility of each location's performance, lighting, and framing.

As part of the technical setup, we also integrated the live video feeds from the 4K cameras being used in both shoots — including vertical video formats — and downscaled them to Zoom's HD resolution to ensure smooth and stable transmission without compromising quality.

To guarantee a stable and uninterrupted internet connection, we implemented network bonding using Speedify and a GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 router. The setup combined the studio's wired Ethernet connection, a Starlink satellite internet, and a Globe SIM broadband connection — delivering reliable, high-speed connectivity for smooth video transmission across all locations.

This project showcased how our remote video monitoring solutions, live camera integration, and redundant internet systems can bring creative teams together across continents, keeping productions efficient and connected no matter where they're shooting from.

Bridging borders through technology — one film at a time.
